2013 saw the release of Korg’s long anticipated Volca line of analog synths and drum machines. They stunned the market with their 303 and 808 inspired boxes plus the Volca keys.

These boxes were so popular, it took months to get the initial batches shipped.

Yet, Korg doesn’t sit still. Fresh after the announcement of Korg Little Bits, an analog synth system that can be clicked together like Lego, Korg unveils its new masterpiece, the Korg Volca 909. The Korg Volca 909 is exactly what the name suggests it to be: a true replica of the Roland TR 909. The TR 909 is a sought after drum machine that is the standard in house and techno to this day. Units go well over $3000 in recent years.

The new Korg Volca 909 has a list price of only $149. Korg anticipates it will be its most popular release ever and has kicked up production capacity.

The release is expected to hit stores July 2014.
